India is the second most populated country in the world. The history reveals that many developed countries have started evolution from Textile industry, and then they moved to industrial products. Considering labour requirement in the industry India possess very high potential throughout the globe in terms of textile and apparel sector. Gujarat holds very dominant place in the textile production in the country with 18%. Furthermore it provides employment to almost 21% of the state population. At present apparel industry is witnessing high growth both in domestic and international markets.
 
The state government is also encouraging industries with initiatives such as development of apparel parks in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Anjar, Surat, and other locations.
 
“Sanskriti Mahila Utkarsh Trust” is also contributing to the growth story. Sanskriti Mahila Utkarsh Trust has carried out a research and provided study report on Textile Industries of Gujarat, and that report revealed that the state will need over 1 lakh skilled manpower for apparel and textile sector in coming years.
 
Ahmedabad is considered as biggest market for readymade garment industry, and to supply skilled industry ready manpower to the industry, Sanskriti Mahila Utkarsh Trust has started a course which is at par with international standards and course modules are periodically updated in consultation with industry experts. The syllabus is well balanced combination of practical trainings, including use of high tech machine, field visit and sessions with field experts.
 
Sanskriti Mahila Utkarsh Trust is providing trainings in apparel sector women across socio-economic classes including BPL. Sanskruti Mahila Utkarsh Trust has developed training modules which are effective and practical to make women self sufficient. Sanskruti Mahila Utkarsh Trust also provides employment support to trained women with job work and permanent jobs for tailoring and stitching work
